Installation Time:  45 minutes, much easier installation the previous deck, since this unit is designed to fit into Chrysler products.  I had already installed the wiring harness for the last deck.

Notes:  The reason I wanted to upgrade my deck, is for two reasons: (1) I hated the spacer plate look of the installation of the standard 1DIN deck.  (2)  I had purchased a second 4 channel amplifier to power the dash Boston Acoustics' & the sound bar Infiniti's.  I wanted a cleaner, undistorted sound, more headroom!!  I also did not like the surging on the display of the head-unit when I pumped the volume.  This deck solved those problems, it also looks amazing installed!

Cost:  $ 420.00 CAN

Installation Time:  35 minutes, mounted under front driver seat .  Hardest part of installing was removing the dash to connect to head unit & replacing dash

Cost:  $ 279.00 CAN

Update:  This is unit #2, first one was damaged beyond repair after sinking my Jeep in a river October 9th :-(

Completed Installation Shot

Completed install under rear seat, picture when seat lifted View from front of rear seat when down
bulletKenwood 4 channel amp to left of shot, Kenwood mono block to right
bulletIn the center: Lightning Audio 1.0 Farad Digital "Strike" capacitor, wired in series to the battery, supplies amplifiers with power they require under heavy load.
bulletCenter top: Fuse distribution block which divides the power coming out of the capacitor & splits it into to separate outputs to each amp, one is fused at 50 amps, the other 60 amps.

The install is very tight for space.  Since the amplifiers are hidden under the seat, there is peace of mind knowing that when they get hot, the auxiliary fans will turn on by themselves.  I like knowing that when the seat is down & the face plate is off my deck, it's almost impossible to tell that I have such an elaborate sound system crammed into my Jeep (safety first).

All-in-all, the sound system installation was very time consuming, and cost way more in total than I anticipated, however I feel the end result is one of the nicest Jeep TJ installs I have seen.  I am very proud of my work.
