Power Door Locks

When I got my alarm system I was disappointed that many of the cool features my alarm system had, I was unable to use because Jeep TJ's do not have the platform to use such features.  Power door locks is one of those features.  When looking at Harry Brosofsky's  Harryworld Jeep TJ Site I was surprised to see adding power door locks was so easy.  I purchased two actuators & a few miscellaneous parts & installed them.  Now when I arm/disarm my alarm system, my alarm locks/un-locks my doors!  I used 2 conductor wiring quick disconnects to connect the doors to the car (so I can still remove my doors when I want!)

Shot of completed power door lock installation.

Notice that I had to mount the actuator inverted.  I tried to keep the cables tidy.

Total Cost:    Actuators $ 40.00/ pair CAN, Miscellaneous parts $ 15.00

Installation Time:    2 hours (1 1/2 hours for the first door, 1/2 hour for the second door)

Fire Extinguishers

bullet2 x 1-1/2 lbs type "B" & "C" automotive extinguishers
bulletrefillable
bulletw/gauges

Since most off-road clubs require fire extinguishers as a minimum requirement for members, I figured they must be a good idea.  Not to mention they look cool mounted to the roll bar!

Installation Time:    1 hour (45 minutes for the first one, 15 minutes for the second).  The extinguishers came with bracket, but not screws, I bought stainless steel screws which kept breaking in the hard metal of the roll bar.  Once I found better screws it only took a few minutes.

Cost:    $39.90 ($19.95 each) CAN

Warn Booster Cable - Quick Connect Kit

Not necessary at all but.... cool toy to add to your Jeep.  Warn's Quick Connect Booster Cable kit, allows you to boost another vehicle without even lifting your hood!

A 4' lead in attached to your battery with a 500 amp quick connector on the end.  This end mounts some where convenient.  Mine is mounted behind/beside the passengers side of my Warn winch, on the bumper.  The quick connector has a dust cover that mounts in place when not being used which is tethered to the connector itself to prevent it from getting lost.  The cable ends are mounted to my spare 5/16" accessory posts on my Optima Blue top battery.  That's about it.  The actual booster cables are 16' high quality Vulcan cable with very nice coated clamping ends.  When boosting is required, simply connect the female/male quick connector & voila!! your done!!

Installation:  Very simple, connect the positive wire to the positive, the negative to the negative of you battery, wire loom the cable, feed it to you mounting location, drill, fasten & mount the quick connector & your done.

Cost:  $109.95 USD, again fairly pricey, but well made.  I try & justify all purchases by telling myself this Jeep will be a toy for life, it's only a daily-driver until I can afford a regular vehicle!!
