Clifford Concept 100 Alarm System

bulletInterior digital proximity sensor (senses movement within the vehicle, great for door less & roofless Jeep)
bulletRemote starting capability
bulletRemote headlight operation
bulletDoor contacts
bulletTailgate contact
bulletHood contact
bullet2 Sirens, one included with the alarm & another that is self powered.  This siren charges all the time. If the power is interrupted, or any wires are cut, the siren goes off non-stop until it is disabled with a key!
bulletPC connection for monitoring & option configuration

Installation Time:  Installed by Art of Noise.  Had to be installed by an authorized dealer.  Update:  I had 12 Volt Car audio add the additional contacts & Self Powered Siren.  I also had there head installer Sebastian re-wire the entire alarm system.  It was not done well the first time & Sebastian's work is very good!

Cost:  I paid $ 300.00 CAN, but they installed the wrong alarm by mistake, actual cost should have been $ 850.00 CAN.  Self powered Siren cost an additional $75.00.  System re-wiring & two additional contacts cost $175.00.  Total cost of alarm system... $550.00

CB Radio System

I wanted to be able to talk on the trail to my buddies (Dave & Shane).  The only way to do that is with a CB Radio.  Me & Dave both installed Radio Shack TRC-503 Mini Mobile CB's.  We both decided to go with 4' Whip antenna's.  Because I installed my CB inside of the center compartment, the built in speaker becomes useless if the lid is closed.  To rectify the speaker problem I also purchased an external 8ohm speaker from Radio Shack, # 21-549.

The installation was smooth, no problems.  I decided for aesthetic reasons, to install my CB in the center console & the antenna on the rear bumper.

  1. I removed the entire center console.
  2. I mounted the CB Radio inside the lockable compartment (this required drilling to small holes).
  3. I drilled a 3/4" hole through the bottom of the compartment.  This hole was used for running the cables out of the compartment & underneath the center console to the dash board.
  4. The antenna cable was run through the rubber plug in the firewall into the engine compartment.  I managed to get the cable into the frame & run it the entire length of the Jeep to the rear passenger side.
  5. I removed the bumper end cap & mounted the whip to it with large washers on the top & inside (for support on the plastic).
  6. I mounted the external speaker under the passenger's side dash behind the factory stereo speaker.
  7. To power the CB Radio I used the switched auxiliary spare power cable which is located behind the glove compartment (Tagged) & grounded it to the dash frame.

Results:  Installation was pretty simple & it seems to work well so far.  I am glad I concealed the CB unit, as it keeps the interior looking tidy. I am also glad I installed the external speaker it's LOUD, I will never not be able to hear my buddies.

Installation Time:     3 Hours

Total Cost:   CB Radio  $ 69.00 , Antenna  $ 49.00, External Speaker  $ 25.00      Additional antenna cable $ 12.00  = $155.00 CAN
